Google My Maps and Twitter

Interesting blog entry about how KPBS, an affiliate NPR station in San Diego, used Google Maps and Twitter to update citizens about hazardous fire areas in California.

Interesting use of technology. I didn't even know what Twitter was, and I'm pretty sure I'll never use it now that I do know what it is. Until my kids go off to college and then it or something like it might be useful :) Seriously, it is nice that there are so many ways to get information out to people, and Twitter seems to provide a method for limiting info overload.
